2012 ISSF World Cup in all events in Beijing (CHN) has been cancelled in agreement with the Chinese Shooting Association. The World Cup Stage will not be rescheduled.
The ISSF, in agreement with the Chinese Shooting Association, has decided to cancel the 2012 ISSF World Cup stage in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun events that was scheduled to take place in Beijing on 16-25 June 2012.
In the last few days, special security restrictions associated with the 18th National Congress in China have created conditions that make it impossible for the Chinese Shooting Association to organize this year’s ISSF World Cup in Beijing. These restrictions are new and were completely unforeseen by the Chinese Shooting Association.
The ISSF and our Chinese Member Federation considered several alternatives, but we decided that alternative late June dates for this World Cup were too close to the Olympic Games to make suitable arrangements for such a large World Cup.
We are also aware that several Member Federations are concerned that further changes to the 2012 World Cup program would disturb their preparations for the Olympic Games.
Therefore, please be informed that the ISSF World Cup for Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun in Beijing, China is cancelled.

The ISSF Academy recently completed another very successful B course at the academy’s training centre in Kuortane, Finland.
Fifteen coaches took part in the one week course which saw participants further develop their skills in sports science and shooting science. Participants took part in coaching skills workshop where they demonstrated their teaching and coaching skills to fellow course members and tutors.
A physical training workshop was hosted by Dr. Claudio Robaza in which practical physical training for the shooting sports were demonstrated.
The course concluded with a detailed examination and concluded with a presentation ceremony for all participants.
The course was conducted by Zeljko Todorovic (MNE), Kevin Kilty (IRL), Kimmo Yli-Jaskari (FIN) and Dr. Claudio Robabza (ITA).
This course concludes the academy’s activities for 2011 and marks the end of a busy year for the academy.
The first of two annual courses on the development of training systems for federations completed today at the ISSF Training Academy centre in Kuortane, Finland. With over 11 participants taking part, the course was designed and hosted by Training Academy tutors Mr. Zeljko Todorovic (MNE) and Mr.Kevin Kilty (IRL).
The course has been in development for over a year and its purpose is to enable member federations to develop and manage their own training systems and to encourage the development of the shooting sports in their locality. Subjects ranged from talent identification, the construction of successful coaching teams and developing successful training sessions and saw all the participants actively engaged in workshops and lectures for four days.
Speaking of the course, tutor Mr. Kilty said “This course has been extremely successful in its primary goal of helping member federations to take ownership of their coaching and training programmes. We have worked with participants ranging from Singapore to Porto Rico during this course and I believe that through the enthusiasm they have shown and with the ongoing support of the ISSF Academy that we can help these federations to realise their potential.”
Participants will return next year to complete the course with further subjects covering sports finance, performance planning and developing high performance programmes. This project was aided and supported by the ISSF and the IOC Olympic Solidarity programme.
