The Hungarian junior team kept on surprising during today’s 10m Running Target Junior competitions: Bianka Keczeli won her second consecutive Gold medal mirroring yesterday’s podium, and celebrated with her teammate Laszlo Boros, who won the Junior Men event. Ukraine and Russia also reached excellent results, winning two individual medals and a team gold each.

Bianka KECZELI of Hungary shot another excellent competition at today’s 10m Running Target Junior Women event. The young Hungarian shooter, who had won Gold at yesterday’s 10m Running Target Mixed match, finished again on the top of the podium. Scoring a total of 371 points, Keczeli left far behind her opponents, and was followed in second and third by the same two Ukrainian shooters who had challenged her yesterday. “I am so happy of this victory – said Bianka after the round – this is my last year as a Junior shooter, and I wanted to finish it on the top!”

Hungary also celebrated the 2008 European Champion Laszlo BOROS, who won the title of Junior World Champion at today’s 10m Running Target Junior Men competition. Boros finished in first place with a total of 572 points, winning his first world-level medal “I tried my best, but I did not expect such a result – said the 18-year old shooter – Actually, I did not even realize I had finished on the lead… it has been great! Now I will focus on the next Europeans: I keep on going!”
“Laszlo and me on the podium: this has been a terrific day for the Hungarian shooting: we are a strong team!” commented Bianka Keczeli.

The 10m Running Target Junior Women match was concluded by a breathtaking shoot-off for Silver and Bronze between the two Ukrainian teammates SAVELYEVA and HINCHAROVA, who had completed the two stages with an equal total score of 368 points. SAVELYEVA turned then to be the shoot-off winner, outdoing her opponents 20 to 18 points and grabbing Silver.
The two teammates had already finished shoulder and shoulder, in second and third place behind Bianka Keczeli at yesterday’s Running Target Mixed competition.

With a total score of 1080 points, Ukraine secured a Gold in the Junior Women Competition, preceding Russia (second with 1052 points) and Hungary (third with 991 points).
Russia won Gold in the Junior Men Team competition, finishing on the highest step of the podium with 1698 points. The home team, Czech Republic, followed in second, gaining Silver with 1670 points, while Hungary finished in third with 1662 points.

The 10m Running Target Men and Women event started today with the first stage (slow runs), and will continue tomorrow with the fast runs and the medal matches to decide the winners.
