ISSF establishes Coaches Advisory Committee
The ISSF recognizes that coaches and trainers have much to offer the shooting sport in addition to training shooting athletes. Establishing a group of coaches to provide insight and recommendations to rules, policies and scheduling as well as creating a communications network will benefit the entire ISSF family.
Informal coach meetings will be hosted at remaining World Cups to receive input from coaches and trainers regarding how the coaches can benefit ISSF and their coaching profession. A formal meeting of coaches will be hosted at this summer’s World Championships on 2 August to identify key discussion topics and nominate candidates to serve on the Committee. Consideration will be given to achieving representation among the shooting disciplines and diversity among the continents. Selected coach trainers will participate in the annual World Cup Organizers Workshop each November and the Section Committee meetings that follow.
The ISSF will work with the trainers and coaches to develop an effective coaching communications system and solicit articles for the ISSF News and website.
Nominees for the Coaches Advisory Committee must be proficient in the English language.
