Belgrade’s World Cup closed today – The medal standings

The ISSF Technical Delegate, Mr Robert Mitchell, thanked the organizers, the officials and the volunteers speaking at the last award ceremony of this World Cup stage.

“I would like to thank the Organizing Committee of this World Cup Stage in Rifle and Pistol events for their great commitment, and for the excellent outcomes of this competition.” Said the ISSF Technical Delegate, Mr. Robert Mitchell, speaking at the 25m Rapid Fire Men award ceremonym, the last award ceremony of this World Cup Stage, hosted at the BG Kovilovo sport centre, in the outskirts of Belgrade. “I also would like to thank the juries, the referrers, the officials and the volunteers that have been working with us in these days. Thanks to you all, this has been a successful competition!”

The overall medal standing of this fourth and last leg of the 2010 ISSF World Cup Series in Rifle&Pistol events saw the success of the French team, which finished atop of the competition’s final ranking with two Gold and two Silver medals. Following them, Campriani’s and Badaracchi’s Italy finished in second tying the United States of America with a total of two Gold medals.

The 2010 ISSF World Cup Series will now proceed with the two World Cup Finals, in Shotgun events (Istanbul, 16-23/09) and Rifle&Pistol events (Munich, 24-29/10).

The next appointment with the International Shooting Sport Federation is now set for the 29th of July, when the 50th ISSF World Championship in all events will kick-off in Munich (GER). More then 2000 shooters coming from all around the world are expected to compete there in the biggest shooting competition of the century.  Fifty-five shooting events will be conducted during the World Championship, both in Olympic shooting events (with a chance to qualify for the next 2012 Olympics in London), non-Olympic and separate Junior events. 2011 ISSF World Cup Series – Dates and Locations

The calendar of the 2011 season unveiled. Shotgun starts from Chile at the beginning of March, while Rifle and Pistol from the Olympic shooting range of Sydney, where a combined World Cup will be hosted from the 21st through the 30th of March.

The International Shooting Sport Federation has uncovered the 2011 World Cup Series calendar. Shotgun shooters will open the season in Chile, at the beginning of March, while Rifle and Pistol shooters will follow in Sydney, where the only combined World Cup of the season will kick-off on the 21st of March.

The shooting ranges of Fort Benning, Beijing, Sydney, and Munich, which have been hosting World Cup events this season, will be again in the spotlight next year. Changwon, a traditional World Cup location in South Korea, will host again and ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in April, while Shotgun shooters will be back in Belgrade at the end of August to take part in the 2011 ISSF Separate Shotgun World Championship.

Last ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup kicked-off in Belgrade

The fourth leg of this year’s ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Series kicked-off today at the BG Kovilovo shooting centre, Belgrade (SRB). More then 560 shooters will participate in the event, in their last chance to grab a qualification spot for the 2010 ISSF World Cup Final in Rifle and Pistol events.

The fourth and last leg of the 2010 ISSF World Cup Series in Rifle and Pistol events kicked-off today in Belgrade, where the competition is held at the BG Kovilovo shooting range from the 26th of June trough the 4th of July.

Belgrade’s stage concludes this year’s ISSF World Cup Series, which passed through Sydney (AUS), Beijing (CHN) and Fort Benning (USA), and represents the last chance for Rifle and Pistol shooters to qualify for the 2010 ISSF World Cup Final that will be held in Munich, in October.

More then 560 shooters coming from about 60 countries came here to compete in the ten Olympic events of Rifle and Pistol shooting. They were welcomed today at the BG Kovilovo shooting centre by the President of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Obrad Stevanovic, who spoke at the participants from the stage of the opening ceremony.

“In the following seven days, we will host here the largest sport event in the Republic of Serbia this year, and according to the number of participant this is going to be one of the most massive shooting world cup in general.” Said Mr. Stevanovic.

“I would like to give my special gratitude to the International Shooting Sport Federation, to its President Olegario Vazquez Raña and to its Secretary General Horst G. Schreiber. With their confidence, they made us proud organizers!” concluded Mr. Stevanovic, who was followed on the stage by the ISSF Technical Delegate for this competition, Mr. Robert Mitchell (USA).

“On behalf of the ISSF, I welcome all shooters to the final world cup competition for 2010 – Said Mr. Mitchell – This will be the largest world cup of   the year, and will be hosted in this excellent venue. I would like to thank the Organizing Committee and the city of Belgrade for their support!”

The official start to the competition was then given by the President of the Serbian Olympic Committee, Mr. Vlade Divac “This is not the first time that Belgrade hosts a world-class shooting competition. I would like to thank the International Shooting Sport Federation for their consideration and confidence in our country, and at the same time I would like to welcome all the participants, whishing them to reach their best results during this competition!”
